Go For: Delicious craft cocktails southern antipasto, champagne & fries.

Sylvain Bistro is a locals destination in the French Quarter. This small and intimate place is home to relaxed meals in an elegant but comfy setting.

Sylvain takes its name from the first opera to play in New Orleans. It was a raucous and comedic affair, and that’s what the team at this Nola Place intends to recreate such each and every night.

Inspired cocktails are made with freshly squeezed juices, homemade sodas and tinctures. The Southern Antipasta is great way to start, and to share with friends, and don’t forget to try Champagne and fries (trust us), that is — if you’re looking to splurge. The atmosphere gives you a sense of New Orleans French quarter as it was in the 1700’s and the courtyard is most quaint for any public house.

Sylvain in located just steps from Jackson Square. The bistro and bar is in an old New Orleans carriage house that was built in the 1700’s. It’s owned by Robert Leblanc, who runs his restaurant group, Leblanc and Smith. They operate a number of restaurants and bars in our fine city.

Sylvain takes its food and cocktails seriously. They make their own sodas and all the juice are fresh squeezed. Never short on celebrating brown liquor their whiskey and bourbon collection is top notch.

Come for relaxing drink with friends but stay for a great dinner too. The menu is simple while full of creativity. The fried chicken sandwich elevates the approach of your fast food favorite. The braised beef cheeks are decadent and will melt in your mouth. Enjoy all of this inside the dinning room or get a table outside in the courtyard and dine under the moonlight. Either way, you’ll feel transported back in time and well taken care of by their friendly staff. – brent mccrossen
